Başkent University was established on 13 January 1994 in Ankara by the Turkish Organ Transplantation and Burn Treamtment Foundation and the Haberal Education Foundation and is a private university. Başkent University is one of Turkey’s first foundation universities and was founded by Professor Dr. Mehmet Haberal.
Our philosophy is to design products to avert damage caused by environmental effects and provide effective protection against ageing and to provide corrective benefits against developing skin problems.
Şebnem Küçük graduated from Ankara University’s faculty of Veterinary Medicine and she completed her PhD in Childbirth and Gynecology at the same faculty.
She is at the forefront of stem cell and the suitable production of cellular therapy in clinical applications in Turkey.
With her ethical understanding, knowledge and experience, her startup company, which was founded in 2015, continues to develop unique projects.
In 2006, at Ars Arthro Biotechnology Company in Krems, Austria, she received training on tissue engineering, cell culture production techniques and cell processing centre installation. After this training, she established a cell processing facility at Bilkent University Teknokent. She led this facility, which consists of a clean room and quality control laboratory, which led to the creation of a validation master plan and standard operation procedure files and to obtaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliance to start operation. As the founding director of the laboratory, the production of chondrocyte cells in accordance with standard clinical practice culture, the first three-diamensional collagen matrix was made. She continued to work with the Ministry of Health in order to establish relevant legislation and regulations. During this period she submitted many projects to the support programs of both TÜBİTAK and the Ministry of Industry. She completed the projects by using industry-university associations in the most efficient way.
Şebnem Küçük has 8 years of experience in the development and production of suitable biomaterials in tissue engineering, isolation of cells to be used in stem cell treatments, identification, production standards, clinical suitability, quality control tests, as well as clinical application techniques.
